I have three kids—ages 7,5, and 15 months. My husband and I used to take care of them together. Then, about a month after our third child was born, he took a new job, and he spent longer hours on the job, leaving me with most of the parenting.
Without him around to help, keeping the kids under control has been more difficult and the "don’t make me tell Daddy" thing just started. My five-year-old would do something like kicking her older brother. When I asked her to stop she’d say, " You’re not going to tell Daddy are you?" Then one day my kids were playing with snow, refusing(拒绝) to get into the car for school. I got angry and said, "Don’t make me tell Daddy. " It worked. It was like my husband was helping me again.
The more I said those five words, the more I felt it was wrong. When a mom says those words, she is teaching her kids that their father is to be feared and their mother is not in charge(负责). It’s not good for mom and not fair(公平的) to dad.
What happened when the writer said "Don’t make me tell Daddy"?
选项
A、None of the children would listen to her.
B、The children stopped doing bad things.
C、The children became angry.
答案
B
解析
句意:当作者说“不要让我告诉爸爸”的时候发生了什么?细节题。从文章中第二段最后三句“I got angry and said…It worked…”可以推断出,作者说完这句话后,孩子便不再捣乱了。故选B。
