答案 On the Importance of Compliments In the picture, a man is sitting listlessly, apparently in a bad mood, while another man is holding up his thumb trying to cheer him up. This picture conveys the importance of compliments. In fact, all human beings have a need to be concerned, acknowledged and encouraged and a sincere and genuine compliment is certainly one of the best ways to meet that need. There are many positive effects of sincere and genuine compliments. For one thing, exchanging compliments with strangers can take you off guard and warm your heart. Saying things like " You look wonderful today" might sound simple, but those few words can turn a grey day into a sunny one. The words themselves don’t carry much weight yet they convey a message to the persons that you’ve seen them and put them in the spotlight for just a few seconds. For another, recognition and praise are a positive way of motivation. Praising the good behavior and complimenting the person for his insight, manners can bring out his best. Beyond any doubt, good interpersonal communication skills are of great importance to one’s personal growth and success. It is not hard to notice that a fine-tuned compliment is a handy tool that helps build and maintain relationships and motivate people. So, we are expected to develop this merit.
