Industrial marketing, also commonly called business marketing, on the other hand, deals with marketing goods and services from one business to another business. Let’s take a look at an example of each type of advertising method so that you can better understand these two concepts.
    An example of consumer marketing would be a medical company that makes cold medicine. This company markets directly to the public and attempts to persuade the consumer of the benefits and necessity of this type of cold medicine. The consumer, in turn, buys the medicine directly from the company for personal consumption.
    An example of industrial marketing would be an office furniture company that targets sales to other companies. In this example, the office furniture company doesn’t need to speak directly with the individual consumers or employees, but rather advertise to and negotiate with other large companies. The furniture company wants to convince companies of the need to purchase new office furniture and upgrade existing furniture. Industrial marketing is only concerned with business-to-business advertising and the products are used to facilitate company operations.
