答案 In recent years, with the popularity of laptops and tablet computers, many students have abandoned taking class notes by hand; instead, they type them on their computers. This practice has both advantages and disadvantages. On the one hand, students can take notes with less effort while at a greater speed— normally experienced computer users can type faster than they do handwriting. Additionally, computers offer limitless space for note-taking, so students don’t need to worry that there aren’t enough space to write. On the other hand, computers may be distracting because they offer opportunities for watching TV or surfing the Internet. Moreover, typing notes may hinder students’ academic performance. According to some scientists, students who type notes tend to just copy what their teachers say, without thinking about what they are writing. As I see it, students who type notes should be cautious about the negative impact of this method and available technologies for writing notes by hand on computer screens might be a good compromise.
