For one thing, news is offered in an entertaining way. Thus, viewers gain both information and pleasure. and they feel relieved from everyday pressure. For another. the speaking of a certain dialect brings the appealed audience a sense of closeness, not to mention the lire-centered content of these programs. ⑥To sum up, I see no threat they pose against Mandarin and no reason that they should he banned.
