答案 Nowadays, a considerable number of parents let their children take part in all kinds of classes for arts, music, etc. in their spare time. According to a recent survey, nearly 70% children in cities have taken these classes. In the picture, a father accompanying his son is entering a class for guitar-learning, and a mother accompanying her daughter for drawing. This phenomenon is quite common in China. In my opinion, the appearance of the phenomenon has several reasons. First, at present, a couple has only a child. Therefore, parents have high expectations for the future of their children, and hope their children are generalists and are the best. Second, heated competition in society has put more pressure on the youth and their parents. In ’order to become more competitive in every aspect, the youth and their parents emphasize those classes in their spare time. In fact. in participating these classes, parents should consider more for the children. First, parents should not give children too much pressure which is not good for children’s physical and mental development. What is worse, parent should take children’s interest into consideration in case the children do not like the classes, refuse to learn hard and waste lots of time. All in all, parents should make proper use of these classes in the spare time by considering the children’s needs.
