Many people may be nervous about using online bill pay. But a new report says it can be safer than us ing traditional methods. The story posted on intemetnews.com reports, Javelin Strategy and Research says,eliminating paper bills makes it harder for thieves to steal information, often done by searching a person’s mail. The report claims that by simply buying into the high-teach approach, customers can save $4.8 billion in fraud costs each year. The group also says people who use Internet banking or bill pay are more likely to monitor their transactions on a regular basis.One of the snags, though, most companies do charge a monthly fee for the online services.
