答案　　I read a book in high school that had a great impact on me. It was a biography of Ernest Hemingway. I couldn’t remember the author of the book, but the book belongs to a book series of famous people’s lives. It’s a book for general readers, collecting the significant events of the legendary writer and compiling them into a small pamphlet. It’s informative and easy-to-read. I was quite enthralled by the ups and downs of the American writer’s life, and the unbeatable attitude that he held in face of suffering. 　　I still remember most of its content clearly. In summary, Hemingway experienced two world wars, four marriages, countless severe injuries from war zones and hunting, a lot of expeditions in Africa, long years of exotic life away from US and won a Noble Prize. Starting as a journalist, he polished his writing up to a strictly concise journalistic style which became the trademark of his works. I admire this writing style very much and once tried to imitate it, I’m fond of his short stories more than his novels, such as "A Clean, Well-Lighted Place", "Hills like White Elephant", which captured the subtle incidents of life and implicitly expressed the writer’s sharp observation on human nature. Hemingway’s Nobel-winning The Old Man and the Sea is my favourite book. There is a line that goes like this "A man is not born to be defeated; you may destroy him, but you can’t defeat him." These words always encourage me to stand up against adversities in honor of human beings’ dignity.
