Tillman Corporation to Begin Work on Park
By Pricilla Goody
Sarsgaard - Yesterday, the Sarsgaard City Board approved a proposal from Tillman Corporation to begin construction on a park on the vacant property on the city’s west end. According to Tillman Corporation’s proposal, the park will include 675 acres of grass, a 390-acre forest, a bike and skating trail around the perimeter of the park, a playground, and a manmade lake at the park’s north end near Delancey Street. The lake, where visitors will be able to ride boats, will cover approximately 100 acres of the park, and will be home to various water birds and fish.
During yesterday’s announcement, Christopher Shakur, chairman of the Sarsgaard City Board said, "We chose to approve Tillman Corporation’s proposal because we believe that the creation of a park is in keeping with the Sarsgaard Improvement Plan. Not only will the park beautify our city, but it will also provide a wealth of recreational activities to residents."
Construction on the park is scheduled to begin in early April.
