答案
Should the University Campus Be Open to Tourists? Many universities have recently seen a boom in tourism on their campuses. As to this phenomenon, people find it difficult to decide whether it is a good or bad thing. To this practice, some people respond with displeasure, arguing that it is far from constructive to allow people by the thousands to visit the campuses. They assert that easy access to university campuses may result in a compromise of intellectual context. What’s worse, students may be distracted from their study by swarms of visitors. Others find comfort in the idea of opening university campuses to tourists, firmly believing that, on the one hand, it provides the public with a rare opportunity for their exposure to the intellectual atmosphere of renowned universities. On the other hand, such visits help to keep prospective freshmen better informed of the universities, which will surely contribute to their choice of schools. Personally, I am standing on the side of those who embrace the practice. It helps to build a bridge between the "ivory tower" and the outside society. As long as the universities can manage well, it will pay in the long run both intellectually and financially.
