W: OK, Simon,(1)let’s go out for dinner. I’m really hungry.
M: Yeah, OK. Me too. I wonder if there are any good restaurants around there. Have you got any good ideas?
W: Well, there are a few restaurants around my house. Um, there’s an Italian restaurant. There’s a grilled chicken restaurant. Also there is a fish restaurant, and a family diner. So many good choices, right?
M: Family diner. What’s that?
W:(2)The family diner is one of those restaurants where they serve many types of food. For example, they have noodles, pasta, hamburgers as well as salad. Pretty much anyone in the family could order what he wants. They have desserts, things like that.
M: Well, that makes sense. That’s why it’s called a family diner, or family restaurant because I guess everyone in the family will be happy if they eat there.
W: That’s right. To tell you the truth, my family always orders food there: it is so popular with people in the neighborhood.
M: That will be a good choice. But I want to try something new, you know, different from what we eat every day. By the way, you said Italian restaurant just now, right?
W: Ah, yeah, there’s an Italian restaurant. It’s a very small family-owned Italian restaurant. They have really good pasta, fresh salad and things like that. They always have really good specials. The only problem is it’s really crowded and it’s a little bit expensive because it’s very popular.
M: Oh, really? Do they have pizza? I like pizza.
W: Actually, they don’t have pizza. They only have pasta.
M: OK. What a pity!(3)But I would rather go to another restaurant if there is not any pizza in the Italian restaurant.
W: Of course, there are still some other choices. There’s also a fish restaurant and there’s a grilled chicken restaurant. Grilled chicken. That’s pretty general.
M: How do they serve that?
W: Well, actually, it’s not a restaurant. This guy has a small stand, a very small area, and there are some small tables in front of it, and he just grills chicken, kind of on the street, and then he has little tables in front of his booth or stall and you eat chicken there. But the price is good.
M: Oh, that sounds really cool. But I wonder if it is clean enough.
W: Oh, I understand what you are worried about. But to tell you the truth, the guy is really considerate and careful enough. He always makes sure that everything is clean and safe. I have been there several times. Nothing terrible has happened to me. Don’t worry!
M: Really? Well, that’s all right.
W: Yeah, yeah, and they have beer, too.
M: Oh, yeah. I like beer.
W: Cool. Let’s go.
M: OK.
