答案 To Be a volunteer in Beijing Olympic Games 2008 Beijing has successfully won the bid to host the Olympic Games 2008, and great efforts have been made to welcome the arrival of that exciting moment. The central government has invested much in the improvement of the infrastructures such as transportation, environment; citizens are busy learning English. And I, as a college student, al- so want to contribute to the preparation work. Taking all the factors into account, I think to be a volunteer in Beijing Olympic Games 2008 will be practical. To be a volunteer in the Games is a demanding task. The volunteers must speak fluent English and can communicate with the foreign guests without difficulty; besides, the volunteers should know well the Chinese culture so that the foreign guests can consult them for more information of China. At present, I’m not so eligible for a volunteer, but I’m trying my best to meet that requirement. I’m taking an oral English training course in my spare time, and it seems to help. Also, I’m reading some tourism-related books, which introduces the culture and history of places of interest, in the following 2 years, I’m very confident that I can grow into a qualified volunteer and can make some contribution to the Olympic Games 2008.
