The post-80s now have become the main stream in the society. More and more post-80s writers spring up and have been in full swing. They tend to express their views or dissatisfaction in their works boldly and directly. Some people say that writers of this generation are usually outspoken and cynical, which might exert a negative influence on young readers. What is your opinion? Do you think post-80s writers are a bad influence on younger generations? Write an essay of about 400 words. You should supply an appropriate title for your essay.

Post-80s Writers Are Good for Something Nowadays, reading fictions written by post-80s writers has become one of the typical acts of younger generations in China. Some people, however, express their concerns that post-80s writers are very cynical in their writings and might lead to a "lost generation". As I see it, post-80s writers are not a bad influence on younger generations, but a good one. To begin with, the literature by post-80s writers makes youngsters’ voices heard. In the traditional society, opinions of senior people were extremely important while those of the younger ones were easily overlooked or denied. Now, with the popularity of post-80s writers, youngsters are encouraged to view their points and assert themselves. They are no longer dismissed as inexperienced or naive. Contrarily, they provide a unique and insightful perspective to the society. For example, in Han Han’s first novel, Triple Doors, he satirized the education system and authority from the angle of a student, which struck a chord in the heart of many young readers and received a warm welcome. Later on, Han Han started blogging, and expressed his thoughts on some social matters: pollution, authorship, the exploitation of young workers, and the gap between the rich and the poor. On his blog, youngsters feel free to discuss issues happening around them and dare to express their views objectively. It is fair to say that post-80s writers build up the confidence of youngsters to voice their opinions instead of shying away from public deliberation. Furthermore, post-80s writers are the motivational forces for the youngsters to follow their dream and work hard on it. Success used to be a luxury exclusive to the middle-aged and veteran people. Now, it is no longer the case. Young people are also entitled to enjoy the joy of success, if they have a brilliant idea, a creative approach or a willing heart. Some post-80s writers confessed that they wrote only for fun and they had not expected their writings would get popular. They simply enjoyed the sheer pleasure that writing brought to them. It is the pure interest that sets them apart from the crowd and helps them rise to fame by virtue of their own talents. This sends a positive message to those youngsters that if you want to succeed, you have to put your heart and soul into it. To conclude, post-80s writers are not good for nothing. They speak up for those who used to be voiceless and set an encouraging example for post-90s and even post-00s.
