Therefore, there are two such exams each year. When it comes to the question of "Is CET-4 necessary", people hold different opinions. Many people think that CET-4 is necessary. They have two reasons: First, it can motivate college students to learn English in one way or another. Second, while college students are applying for a job, a CET-4 certificate can serve as an evidence for their English level. But some others think differently. They complain that CET-4 is not a best way to test a college student’s English level as some college students with a CET-4 certificate still can’t communicate successfully in English. In my opinion, we need an evaluating system like CET-4 to test our English level. But as a national evaluating system, the present CET-4 is not scientific enough to test our English level. Thus CET-4 needs to be improved.
