   The name "United Nations" was【C1】______(probable) devised by U. S.【C2】______(preside)Franklin D. Roosevelt, and first group of representatives of the member states met and signed a【C3】______(declare) of common purpose on New Year’ s Day in 1942. Representatives of five powers worked together to draw up proposals, completed at Dumbarton Oaks in 1944. It was not until that autumn, however, after the Charter had been【C7】______(official) approved and signed by China, France, the USSR, the UK and the US and by a【C8】______(major) of the other participants, the UN came into【C9】______(exist).
