     If you can’t separate the price tag from the fiancee, your engagement is worthless. A ring is a symbol of love and commitment, not debt and burden. She deserves more — not more carats, more honesty. Take a break if you’re this confused. Save her the time and trauma of a future divorce. Why you haven’t talked to her about this situation is a whole other problem.
    Sadly, engagements get broken. Even sadder, marriages get broken. And a broken marriage is far more expensive — financially and emotionally.
