Today, we feel honored very much to have Prof. Vincent Wilson with us. He is well known to the world for his achievements in the field of physics. Now please allow me to express the most heartfelt welcome to Prof. Vincent Wilson on behalf of our university. We have been really looking forward to seeing you for long. Next I would like to briefly introduce our university to our distinguished guest with pleasure. Peking University is a comprehensive and national key university. It stands near the Yuan Ming Gardens and the Summer Palace. The university consists of 30 colleges and 12 departments. While still laying stress on basic sciences, the university has paid special attention to the development of applied sciences. I do hope that Prof. Wilson will enjoy staying here.
