答案 An Electronic Dictionary and a Paper Dictionary With the highly developed science and technology, everything changes and people peruse an easier and more comfortable life, for instance, sending emails instead of writing letters and using an electronic dictionary instead of using a paper one. Considering their differences, I prefer the electronic dictionary. As we all know, there are many differences among the two kinds of dictionaries. Firstly, the materials carrying information are different. One electronic dictionary can compress enormous quantities of information contained in several thick paper dictionaries into a tiny chip, which results in the difference in carrying ways, that is to say, the former is more convenient to carry about in such a fast-paced society. What’ s more, using the electronic dictionary offers you a more convenient way of looking up vocabularies. Instead of looking for a word in the paper dictionary , what you need to do is only typing them in. However, the majorities of the explanations in the e-lectronic dictionaries are not detailed enough. On the contrary, paper dictionaries will give you a wider range of explanations. Considering the above analysis comprehensively, I prefer the electronic dictionary for its convenience, since the modern world requires more in speed rather than in the depth of knowledge. However, for a more academic study, we shouldn’ t put paper dictionaries aside.
