答案Mr. Manager, Recently, I made a thorough survey on advertising through newspaper and television in order to find out their respective advantages and disadvantages. The result is as follows. Among the four traditional media, newspaper is undoubtedly the one with the largest circulation. most popularity and biggest influence. And newspaper advertising has the following advantages. First, it has a very fast speed of dissemination and can spread information very quickly. Second, newspaper ads carry a very large amount of information. Since newspaper communicates information mainly through words, thus it can describe products very clearly. Third, as newspaper is very convenient to carry along, readers can keep them for quite a long time and reread them at any time they like. Moreover. advertising through newspaper is the cheapest way of advertising, which can save a lot of money than advertising through other media. However, newspaper advertising has also its own disadvantages. To begin with, newspaper usually has a very large content containing lots of things, which may distract readers’ attention from the ads. Besides, the printing quality of newspaper is usually not as good as other presswork such as magazine, which may discourage reader from reading it. The most obvious advantages of TV advertising are as follows. First. TV ads are designed through sounds and pictures, which may leave the audience a very deep impression. Thus, TV advertising has a very strong effectiveness. Second, TV advertising has a very fast spreading speed, free from temporal and special constraints. The disadvantages of TV advertising are as follows. First, the amount of information is very small for ads on TV are fleeting. Second, it is heavily constrained by the audience rating. Last but not the least, TV advertising is extremely expensive. As far as I am concerned, newspaper advertising is more suitable for our products at present, for our company now is at its developing stage and the budget for advertising is limited.
