Proposal for expanding work space Introduction As required by my director, I made a survey about the space usage situation of our company. In this report, I will introduce the current condition and give my recommendation for solving the issue. Findings We recruited about 100 new staffs this month and they have been distributed to different departments. As there were not enough vacant seats yet, some of the newcomers are placed in the meeting rooms and some are sitting in the temporary seats while others are sitting in the places for salespersons. They can’t work efficiently as a result of the limited work space. And it is inconvenient for them to communicate because some of the conference rooms lack the network cables and some are very stuffy. What’s more, some staffs have to go upstairs and downstairs frequently as they are not arranged in the same floor with other colleagues in the same department. Recommendations Therefore, I strongly recommend that the following measures be taken to place the new employees. First, some of the meeting rooms can be fitted up as office rooms as they are not used often. Second, the lounge in the fourteenth floor can be refitted to hold more workers. Third, some of the managers can share their office with several employees, as their offices are all very spacious. I hope we can take this into consideration and measures should be taken accordingly, so the staff can work more efficiently and happily, which is good for the long-term development of the company.
