W: Michael, I’m finalizing the list of companies that will participate in our trade exhibit. The organizing committee needs the list by this afternoon, but several firms haven’t confirmed yet. Are you free to help me call some of them to find out if they are participating?
M: Sorry, but I’m scheduled for an interview with a job applicant in half an hour. But it shouldn’t last too long and I can come to your office when I’ve finished.
W: I’d appreciate that. Do you happen to know who has the contact information for those companies? I can’t seem to find the copy I had.
M: Why don’t you ask the secretary? She must have kept a copy in her file after our discussion last week.
