Yale University announced on Monday that it was planning to create a liberal arts college in Singapore that would be financed entirely by the government there and could, in time, establish a new model for higher education in Asia. While Yale has many international programs, it has not put its name on an overseas project the way it envisions doing at the National University of Singapore. The college is envisioned as a highly elite school within an already prestigious, yet huge and career-focused university.
