Is It Better to Live in the Countryside or in a Big City? To live in the countryside, or to live in a big city—that is a tough question. Many people think that living in the countryside is boring and monotonous. But I think that it is better to live in the countryside. First of all, living in the countryside keeps people healthy. It is known to us that the air pollution is quite severe in cities, because of the large number of cars. For example, in Beijing, citizens are usually disturbed by the foggy weather and sandstorms. With the deteriorated air quality, they are more susceptible to lung diseases and breathing problems. If they live in the countryside, they do not have to worry about the air which is beneficial to their health. Secondly, life in the countryside is simple and easy. Unlike people in big cities, people in the countryside are away from the material pursuits and hustle and bustle. They also keep a far distance from the crowd. The simple life style makes them content, which ultimately benefits their mental health. In conclusion, living in the countryside is better than living in cities, because it will result in physical and psychological well-being.
