The sunlight danced on the white stones on the river bed, the river chattered merrily and Edward, patient and content, sat waiting for a bit. He sat so long in fact that after a while he could scarcely remember why he had come.
   Presently there was a little flurry in the water and then a flash of silver as a salmon leaped.
