A balanced diet means that we should eat foods which contain enough calorie and protein (蛋白质)- The intake of sufficient (充足的) calorie and protein will influence people’s life expectancy (寿命). Here is an example. From the chart, we can see that the basic requirement of calorie and protein for proper health in U. K. is 2, 500 grams, while in India the basic requirement of calorie and protein is 40 grams. In fact, in U. K. the daily calorie intake per capita is (人均) 3, 150 grams, while in India the daily calorie intake per capita is 1, 810 grams. The daily protein intake per capita is 87. 5 grams in U. K. , while in India the daily protein intake per capita is 45. 5 grams. Because the people in U. K. have a better nutrition (营养) than the Indians, we can see that the average life expectancy in U. K. is 68, while the average life expectancy in India is 48.
