We all like to feel needed. But new research suggests having a sense of purpose is good for our health, too.

The results show that the higher someone’s sense of purpose, the lower their risk of a stroke. Those with the greatest sense of purpose were 73 percent less likely to suffer a stroke compared to those with the lowest.
Other research has shown that positive mood can lower levels of the stress hormone Cortisol(荷尔蒙皮质醇), also【C8】______in stroke.

选项
答案
O
解析
空格位于be动词之后,且句中谓语部分不完整,故应填入动词过去分词形式构成被动语态。根据下文for four to five years和completed psychological tests可知人们被跟踪调查,故空格处应填入tracked“追踪,跟踪”。
