The purpose of the drawing is to draw our attention to the plagiarism in academic researches. It’s a pity that academic plagiarism scandals have been occurring from time to time in some prestigious universities in China these days. And we must admit that the current evaluation mechanism—excessively linking the academy research with economic interests or focusing too much on the number of academic achievements—is unscientific and unreasonable, resulting in that plenty of students and instructors risk plagiarizing with the dissimilated purpose and motivation. What’s worse, it has brought about great negative impacts on our society. For one thing, such act destroys the social fairness and justice and leads to a lack of motivation in society. For another, the bad behavior impedes the academic development and progress of science and technology, for the real achievements cannot be acknowledged or published. Prevention of academic plagiarism is a complex and difficult task. Only by dealing with it lawfully and morally can academic fraud be curbed to a maximized extent.
