Throughout evolution, humans have been active. Our ancestors chased prey as hunter-gatherers and【C1】______from predators. More recently, they labored on farms and in factories. But the decline of【C2】______and industrial labor, plus the【C3】______of the car, a multitude of labor-saving devices and—most perniciously—TV, computers and video games, mean we’ ve all ground to a sudden and catastrophic standstill.

Physical inactivity is【C7】______us. " Everyone knows too much booze or tobacco is bad for you, but if physical inactivity was packaged and sold as a product, it would need to carry a health warning【C8】______," says Hughes.
The good news is that we can do something about it. 答案
E
解析
根据空格前的and,可判断本空格应该与上文的chased并列,故本空格应该填一个动词,且与空格后的from形成固定搭配。predators意为“掠夺者,捕食者”,flee from意为“从……逃脱”,故答案为E)fled(逃跑,逃离)。
