答案
PROPOSAL: CHANGE THE PACKAGING OF OUR COFFEE The purpose of this proposal is to study the possibility of changing the packaging of our coffee to increase sales. Following your e-mail instructions of November 20th, we made an investigation at some of the leading shopping malls among a sample of buyers of coffee. REASONS FOR CHANGING PACKAGING Most of the interviewees buy coffee as gifts for their friends. They only choose coffee of superior quality, good taste and nice packaging. They say that the present packaging of our coffee is out of date and not attractive enough to them. At present, there are 28 brands of coffee from various suppliers available. We are facing unprecedented keen competition. SUGGESTED CHANGES First, high-quality glass bottles should be used as the outer packaging of coffee instead of the present plastic ones. Second, the design of the bottles should be made unique and more attractive to consumers. ESTIMATED COST The cost of each glass bottle is estimated to be $ 0.50, $ 0.25 more than the present plastic one. POSSIBLE DISADVANTAGES We need to do some advertising and sales promotion to make our new packaging known to consumers, which will take us some time and cost us more money. Besides, we may probably lose some consumers who care about price mom than packaging. (209 words)
