答案
What Should Determine a Student’s Grade? When it comes to a student’ s grade, people can never agree with each other. Some argue that students’ grade should be determined by their test results, for such a yardstick is more objective. In this way, the focus of teaching is oriented to the preparation for tests. And thus, every point counts. On the other hand, others hold the opinion that it is students’ attitudes towards study and their performance in class that play a significant role in students’ grade. As far as I am concerned, I support the latter opinion. The goal of teaching is to cultivate students’ study habit and develop their interest in learning more than preparing them for tests. The test is just a measure of checking students’ study. Only when a student has a proper attitude and active class involvement can we say that he understands what study really means. In conclusion, as learning is more a process than a result, students ’ grade should be determined by their daily performance.
