A After class we can take part in some group activities and solitary pursuits. Group activities afford us the opportunities to make many new friends. By playing a ball game, going to a dance, or having a holiday outing, we can share knowledge, skills, and happiness. Such experiences contribute much to the development of our sociability. In addition, we can also enjoy solitary pursuits. We can read a book at midnight, listen to a favorite record between classes, and jog on campus on later afternoons. Our campus is rich and colorful because of these activities. E What kind of after-class activities are you interested in? B I’m interested in many kinds of after^class activities, especially watching movies. There are many beautiful things in the movies. Maybe they do not exist in reality, but imagining them can make our life nice and colorful. There is a cinema in my university, and we also can watch movies in our library. In addition, we can download many classical and recent movies from the internet. Above all, it’s very convenient to watch movies on campus. E Do you often take part in after-class activities? B Yes, it’s very difficult for me to pay my tuition and fees at university. My family is not rich, for my parents are both peasants. So, I have to do some part-time jobs after class. Sometimes I’m a bit tired, but I really enjoy it. By doing these jobs, I can pay my tuition and fees all by myself, and I can get rich work experience. I’m proud of myself. Certainly I also study hard, and I’m always the top student in my class. E What do you think of students taking a part-time job while in school? B In my class, about 25 percent of students now hold a part-time job or temporary job. They are working as tutors, salespersons, engineers, editors and whatever work they can find. I think it’s really a good idea to hold a part-time job. Firstly, we can live a self-reliant life on campus. We can pay for the books, movies and bus fares all by ourselves. E What entertainment does your college (university) offer during the weekend? A There are many kinds of entertainment offered by my university during the weekend. Every Saturday in the stadium there will be a dance held by the Student U-nion. We can go there to have a dance. And most of the matches and performances are held at the weekend. Also, we can watch movies in the library and listen to speeches during the weekend. In addition, every weekend, we students can sell our old books there. It’s very interesting.
