答案
Where do You Want to Work? As is revealed in the chart, nearly half of the Chinese university students intend to work in provincial capital cities. Highly-developed metropolises like Beijing and Shanghai rank the second at 37 percent. Also, 12 percent of students choose small and medium-sized cities. And a minority of students are willing to work in countryside and other areas. Several reasons can account for the students’ choices. Without a doubt, international metropolises like Beijing and Shanghai can provide more opportunities and challenges, which enable college graduates to train themselves effectively. At the same time, provincial capital cities enjoy their own advantages. They have been developing rapidly in recent years, and meanwhile, the real estate prices are not that unaffordable as those of the metropolises. For those who wish to work in medium or small cities, they are fond of peaceful lives. And those who choose rural areas are expecting to develop the potentials of the countryside. In my opinion, if you are excellent enough in both academic study and social communication, it will be advisable for you to go to those metropolises to challenge yourselves. Otherwise, starting your career in a less competitive area would be a wise choice.
