What can blind students in Kenya benefit from the technology to be adopted?
Until recently, blind and visually impaired students in Kenya were still using Braille books for their studies. But Kenyan schools for the blind are now beginning to adopt technology that provides material in an audible form—and in the process expands their opportunities. Assistive technology equips the learners with many skills that really make them independent in life. Students can read materials like books, magazines, newspapers by themselves. And apart from that—assistive technology equips them with employable skills.
The World Health Organization has announced an end to the Ebola virus outbreak in Liberia, meaning all three countries at the epicenter of the West African outbreak are now considered Ebola-free. The WHO announcement came Thursday after 42 days without a new reported case in Liberia. When announcing the milestone, the WHO cautioned that small outbreaks are expected and called for continued strong surveillance to keep the disease at bay.
选项
A、Liberia is the only country in West Africa free from Ebola virus.
B、Although Ebola is under control people should guard against its possible return.
C、Small outbreaks of Ebola virus have been reported and 42 announced dead.
D、Free medical treatment will be provided to all Ebola sufferers.
答案
B
解析
根据录音中的“the WHO cautioned that small outbreaks are expected”可知,尽管埃博拉病毒已消除,但WHO还是警告要小心小范围的爆发。因此选B项。
