What does Mr. Brown want the president of Afghanistan to do?

Britain’s Prime Minister Gordon Brown says that the next few months will be critical as more international troops join the fight against rebels in Afghanistan. Mr. Brown spoke during a surprise visit to British troops in the country. He also met with President Hamid Karzai in Kandahar. Mr. Brown and other Western leaders have been pressuring Mr. Karzai to improve governing and end corruption. British public support for the British troop presence in Afghanistan has decreased as harm to troops has increased. NATO says that 100 British soldiers have died in Afghanistan this year.
