答案 Some significant changes took place in student enrollment in China during the years from 1994 to 2003, as is shown in the above graph. Them is a steady increase on the student numbers from 5532 in 1994 to 24657 in 2003. There are two possible reasons for these changes. First, as many parents thought money was the most important thing in present society, they no longer sent their children to schools or made them drop out of schools at an early age. As a result, enrollment in primary schools decreased. Second, to build our country into a modernized one, a large number of professionals and intellectuals are needed. Therefore, the government founded many new specialized schools and colleges, which provided more opportunities for those young people interested in advanced education. In my opinion, it is good for more students to receive advanced education because the development of our country needs large numbers of well-educated young people. However, it is alarming to see so many children leave school to earn money. This will affect not only their own future but also the future of our nation.
