Where did the Pakistani government signed the agreement with tribal leaders?

Bush administration officials are to meet Thursday to discuss a new report by the National Counterterrorism Center. Officials say the report states that al-Qaida has found shelter in Pakistan since the signing of a peace agreement. The Pakistani government signed the agreement with tribal leaders in the country’s northwest. The report said the agreement effectively removed the government from that area and permitted terrorists to move in. The report also said al-Qaida has rebuilt its strength to a level not seen since 2001.

Coalition forces in Afghanistan say more than 50 suspected Taliban rebels have been killed in two days of fighting. A statement says coalition airplanes dropped four bombs on enemy targets in the southern part of the country. The airstrike followed a suicide bombing against soldiers in Helmand province. The United States military says no civilians were killed during the battles Sunday and Monday.
