答案 For many people, a job means a good salary which can make ends meet and cover life expenses. In my opinion, however, the meaning of work is more than a good salary. To me, the kind of job worthy of devotion means creation and contribution. Work means new creations to the society. As science and technology progress, computers and robots are used widely. We might sometimes doubt the necessity of our very existence. Yet creative jobs, such as teaching, writing, scientific research, and management, which require a lot wisdom and imagination or involve many understandings, will build up self-confidence in ourselves and help to push our civilization further. During the process of creation, our work will constantly provide us with challenges so that we can develop and improve ourselves. Work also means the contribution one can make which will lead our country to prosperity. I remember that the first time I came to Beijing, on the train I was shocked with some shabby huts, which were actually people’s dwelling places. Those huts kept flashing into my mind, reminding me of our duty to help people out of such a life. Therefore, work does not only mean something about one’s own life, but something about a bright future for our country and our people. People can gain enjoyment from creative and contributive work. If you do not enjoy your work, even if it brings you a very good salary, you are not, really leading a happy and meaningful life.
