My View on a Gap Year
选项
答案
My View on a Gap Year There is a discussion on whether college students should take a gap year between school and university in or der to get some relevant work and/or social experience. Some people favor this, claiming that a gap year would benefit students in two ways. First, a year of work would give students a chance to put their skills into practice and understand them better. In addition, it would let them discover any gaps between their knowledge and what is expected of them in a job. In this way, they would know better what to do in their future studies. Others are against it, in tile belief that a gap year has bad effects. First, if all the students leave school for work, whether our society is able to offer enough temporary vacancies? If not, there will be some student left jobless and the whole year would be a waste of time for ’them. In addition, for those students who are offered places, the jobs might not necessarily be suitable for them. I think students whose intended future courses arc vocational should have the gap year while those doing more theoretical courses should not leave full time education until they finish university.
