Women Aren’t Treated Equally with Men As the mere two parts in the society, men and women are born to be equal. The lack of either side will result in the extinction of human. Just as declared in the American Declaration of Independence: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable right". However, the discrimination against women is obvious in reality. In the factory or office, it is female workers or clerks to be laid off; in the poor family, it is girl not boy to drop out of school; in the college, it is more difficult for girl students to find a good position. Even in the same work unit, it is usually man to be promoted. Sex has become a barrier to achieving a success in a female’s career. Despite the difficulty, there are still ample ways to change women’s position in the society. First and foremost, we need to change our prejudice. Secondly, the society should offer equal opportunities for both men and women. Since the social prejudice is deep-rooted, the change requires long-term efforts from both men and women.
