答案 The only perfect love to be found on earth is not sexual love, which is riddled with hostility and insecurity, but the wordless commitment of families, which takes as its model mother-love. This is copiously illustrated in the above cartoon. In the picture, the mother is addressing her child: in order to save her child’s time to respond, she makes a list of options for the child to choose from. A great mother love is clearly shown in this considerate letter. There are many stories of great mother love in life. The most moving ones are those from the recent earthquake of Sichuan. For example, a policewoman is reported to have left her own 6-month child to the care of the grandparents and to have given out her milk to breast-feed infants who lost their mothers in the earthquake. Another moving story is about a mother who risked her life to protect, with her body, her 4-month-old child from being hit by the falling debris. When the rescue team finally came, the mother died on the spot but the baby was alive. All these stories are compelling evidence of great mother love. The love of mother and child is beautiful; but there is a higher love than that—the love of one and another. This kind of love is like the lamp that lights the universe: without it, the earth is a barren promontory and man the quintessence of dust. When giving love to others, the fewer conditions you place on love, the more perfectly it will suit you, and the more meaningful it will become. Let us all love the whole world as a mother loves her only child.
