答案
It’s Harmful to Use Cultural Heritage to Develop Tourism During May Day holiday and National Day holiday in China, millions of visitors swarm in cultural heritage sites, such as Forbidden City and the Great Wall. These visitors, sometimes, bring chaos and garbage to the sites; some even deface the Great Wall by carving their names into it. Because of this, I think it is harmful to use cultural heritage to develop tourism in China. First of all, cultural heritage is of high historical value and should be protected from damaging threats. However, in China, many visitors are not well-behaved and do not pay due respect to cultural heritage. They stamp the century-old wooden desk, spit in the Summer Palace and doodle on the artistic murals. The historical value of cultural heritage is thus lost. Secondly, developing tourism with cultural heritage is a greedy act which only aims at making money. Shaolin Temple, for instance, was a sacred and revered site for Chinese people. But now, with the tourism-minded administration, it has been turned into a brand, promoting its products and services and taking in millions of visitors. The once silent and tranquil site is now a spiritual wasteland, filled with hustle and bustle. In conclusion, we had better not develop tourism industry at the expense of cultural heritage which is worthy of our protection and reservation.
