Never blindly following the conclusions in books during his exploration, he was able to discover many a place that had been quite unreliably recorded by the forerunners in their geographical studies. For a truthful and detailed investigation, he rarely traveled by road or by water. Instead, he trekked over mountain after mountain. In order to verify the truth of nature, he always chose such mountain areas with difficult and dangerous paths and sparsely populated forests to travel and explore that he discovered many wonderful mountains and beautiful scenery.
