Do you think that people read nowadays as they did in the past?
选项
答案
No, I don’t think so. First and foremost, people nowadays spend less time reading than they did. In the past, we didn’t have many entertainments, so reading became an ideal way to kill time. But we’re now living in an information area. Thanks to technology, videos and games are everywhere, from tiny cellphone screens at hand to giant LED screens on the buildings. So, people read less. In addition, nowadays, people prefer to read through attention-grabbing, colorful visual information rather than the brain-consuming, black words on paper. Last but not least, people read the classics repeatedly in the past, but now they’re more likely to follow the bestseller list.
