答案 Use of Science Club Membership Dues The Science Club membership dues were used in a variety of ways. There were six areas of expense that had to be covered by the money from members’dues. One half of the membership dues, namely, 50% , went for scholarship assistance to needy members. A quarter of the dues , i. e. 25% , was spent on producing the club’s magazine. Members of the club devoted the third largest amount, 16% , to prizes for outstanding work in science. The annual Science Club trip to museums and scientific institutions required 7%of the income from dues. The smallest amounts , 1 % each , were used for office supplies and correspondence , including letters , telegrams, and long-distance telephone calls.
