Read the following extract of a newspaper article on personal freedom. Then write an article (between 110-150 words) responding to the points raised and expressing your own views.
Week after week we seem to hear about some reckless adventure that has gone wrong. In a recent Sydney to Hobart ocean yacht race, the boats sailed into violent storms. Most of the sailors were rescued, but only as a result of a massive rescue operation which cost a huge amount of money and put rescuers’ lives at risk. Similar tragedies have occurred in other dangerous sports, costing the taxpayer thousands and wasting the emergency services’ time. Isn’t it time to ban dangerous sports and protect people who put themselves and others at risk? Or would a ban restrict our freedom too much?
Please write the article on the Answer Sheet.

Recently, we heard much news on some reckless adventure that had gone wrong. So some people argued that we should ban dangerous sports and protect people who put themselves and others at risk because those sports cost a great number of taxpayer’s money and waste much emergency services’time. But I don’t think banning dangerous sports is the best solution for us. Every person has the right to choose their favorite adventure sports to relax or enjoy themselves. Banning the sports would be violating their lawful right. In addition, adventure sports can make people strong-minded and brave. All human beings need to face challenges and overwhelming hardships and difficulties. Therefore, it is not necessary to make a fuss about it. On the other hand, considering potential harm from extreme sports, we could take measures to prevent the possibility of getting hurt, and encourage people to participate those which have advanced security protection. For adventure sport players, they need to do sound preparations before attending such reckless adventures. For example, by collecting information of weather forecast, they could take fewer risks. In sum, people should be given the right to take part in their favorite sports but at the same time, people should do more preparations so the risks could be minimized.
