答案
Nowadays, there is a strange phenomenon that some famous athletes and entertainers earn millions of dollars every year. Some people think this is justified considering these people’s great contributions to the society. For me, giving them so much money as salary will be unequal to other occupations. Firstly, there are so many occupations around the world, such as artists, teachers, accountants, and workers. Viewed as one of the occupations, entertainers or athletes are not much different from the rest of occupations. However, an entertainer can receive 100,000 per show, and a soccer player will be paid a huge sum of money annually. On the other hand, most people in "ordinary" professions like nurses, doctors and teachers earn only a small fraction of the income of these "stars". If we give a careful look at these professions, we will find that they not only require special skills and years of education but also help the people and the whole society. For instance, teachers disseminate knowledge to the society; doctors and nurses give patients good medical care and prolong their life. They are much more useful, and actually more essential to society than sports personalities. Without these "ordinary" professions, our society would stop progressing. Their salaries should relate to skill, education or the value of the individual to society. Therefore, although we admit that we can have a nice show to enjoy or a wonderful match to watch, there is no need to give them such big amount. This is what they should do as an entertainer or an athlete. This is their job. And above all, all occupations should be treated equally. Furthermore, this inequality in income is also not good to the young generation. If most young people know that they can earn more money as an athlete or an entertainer, definitely they will go after that. As a result, they do not want to do anything other than to be an athlete or an entertainer. What’s more, this phenomenon has an important impact on young people’s values. Athletes and entertainers get money in a relatively easy way, which would drive young people to believe in a shortcut to success, although their parents and teachers have always been trying to assure them that no one can expect success without working hard. In conclusion, I think athletes and entertainers do not deserve high salaries because athletes and entertainers are the same as the other jobs and they just do what they should do.
