Local Hospital to Have Better Facilities
AKRON, Ohio, August 14 - The Margaret Labonte Memorial Hospital will soon have improved facilities, as its board of directors finally approved a proposal to expand the 150-bed hospital in order to treat and accommodate more patients. A groundbreaking ceremony and press conference will be held behind the main building of the hospital along Rickshaw Avenue on Wednesday, August 20, at 10 a.m.
Patricia Mellencamp, the hospital administrator, believes that the additional 30,000 square feet of space will bring more success and growth not only for their health professionals and staff but also to their medical programs. "Our hospital is known for its wide range of surgical treatments for various conditions. In addition, our team of well-respected doctors attracts patients who seek quality health care," says Ms. Mellencamp. "Patients will no longer need to go to other hospitals across or outside the state to seek medical treatment." The project will provide the hospital eight new operating rooms with state-of-the-art medical equipment, 30 additional patient rooms, and an outpatient surgery waiting area. All these facilities will be housed in a new building designated as the Outpatient Surgery Center. The construction of the surgery center will start in September and is estimated to last a year and half. A new parking lot will also be completed within the same timeframe. The Margaret Labonte Memorial Hospital was established 30 years ago and now has about 600 employees. It has been providing medical care to the residents of Akron and surrounding communities of Cuyahoga Falls, Tallmadge, Portage Lakes, and Hudson. The hospital is also affiliated with the Ohio Health Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to giving free medical health care to low-income families several times a year.
What is NOT being added to the hospital?
选项
A、Surgery rooms
B、Parking spaces
C、A pharmacy counter
D、A waiting area
答案
C
解析
本题需要在文章中搜索题目核心词added to the hospital的相关内容并与选项进行对照后判断正误。文中提到“The project will provide the hospital eight new operating rooms…and an outpatient surgery waiting area.”,即项目将提供给医院八间新手术室和门诊患者手术候诊区,故(A)和(D)与原文内容一致。根据“A new parking lot will also be completed…”可知,一个新的停车场将要完工,故(B)与原文内容一致。(C)为原文中未提及的内容,因此(C)A pharmacy counter为正确答案。
