Reading is not the only way to gain knowledge of all the work in the past. There is another way which may be called experience. College students will find that every craftsman (工匠) has something to teach and will generally teach gladly if they don’t look down on him. The information from the craftsman differs from that in textbooks and papers because that its theoretical part -- the explanations of why things happen -- is frequently quite strange. But the demonstration (示范) of what happens, and how it happens are correct even if they are in completely unscientific words. Presently the college students will learn, in this case also, what to accept and what to reject.
Another source of knowledge is the vast store of traditional practices handed down from father to son, or mother to daughter in old country customs. M1 this is very difficult for a college student to examine, for much knowledge and personal experience is needed here to separate good plants from wild grass. The college student should learn to realize and remember how much of real value science has found in this wide, confused wilderness and how often scientific discoveries existed in this area long ago.
Which of the following statements is TRUE according to the passage?
选项
A、The college students have trouble separating good plants from wild grass.
B、Craftsman’s experience is usually unscientific.
C、The proud college students will receive nothing from craftsmen.
D、Traditional practices are not so important as experience for the college student.
答案
C
解析
本题为甄别判断题。[A]选项根据第二段第三行“for much knowledge and personal experience is needed here to separate good plants from wild grass”而来,很显然,这里的“good plants”和“wild grass”都是比 喻,说明好的与坏的东西,因此[A]选项表述不正确;[B]选项根据第 一段第六行“even if the they are in completely unscientific words”, 虽然说工匠解释用语不科学,这不能说明工匠的经验也是不科学的。 这是不正确的推理,因此[B]选项也是不正确的表述;[C]选项根据第 一段第二行“College students will find that every craftsman(工匠)has something to teach and will generally teach gladly if they don’t look down on him”说明只要大学生尊重工匠,他们就会很高兴地教授他们。因 此,[C]选项的表述符合原文,是正确选项.[D]选项根据第二段前几句 话“Another source of knowledge is the vast store of traditional practices handed down from father to son,or mother to daughter in old country customs. All this is Very difficult for a college student to examine, for much knowledge and personal experience is needed here to separate good plants from wild grass”说明传统技艺也是很重要的经验,[D]选项表述 不正确。因此,本题[C]选项正确。
