You may have observed that the demand for our department’s services has increased substantially over the last two quarters. As a result, we have had to double our workforce. Unfortunately, the addition of staff has not produced the expected increase in productivity. After studying the problem, I have found the cause to be a lack of adequate facilities.
I raised the issue with upper management and am happy to announce that during last week’s meeting, the board approved a proposal to move our offices to a larger space on the eighth floor of the building. The new office will come with fully equipped workstations for everyone, as well as several rooms for holding meetings and training seminars.
Renovations on the eighth floor are expected to begin at the end of this month and last through November. In the meantime, some of us will begin working out of a temporary office space on the third floor.
