答案 Letter-Writing—a Forgotten Art With the fantastic development of telecommunication in our country, telephone has entered almost every family. Thanks to its convenience and swiftness, the communication between people becomes much easier and more frequent. If we want to talk with someone, we just pick up the telephone and the voice comes over. Even if our friend lives on the other side of the earth, we are able to talk to each other as if he or she lived next to us. While telephone facilitates interpersonal communication, it breeds laziness. Many people depend on telephone to such an extent that they almost forget the old art of letter writing. They are reluctant to write and take letter-writing as a nuisance, a headache. Consequently, it becomes a rare gift for many people to receive a letter from a friend. We should write more letters, particularly to our friends and relatives. The fact that we become reluctant to write letters, but eager to receive letters indicates that telephone calls cannot replace letters. Besides, there are some occasions on which we feel embarrassed on the telephone to express our love for our beloved, but a letter can convey what we think and feel without awkwardness. By writing more letters, we are able to maintain closer ties with friends, so we should not spare efforts to write letters.
